| CORONARY SCREEN
This panel comprises of lipid tests, which provide information about the fat in your blood that is very important in assessing your risk for heart disease. Lipid tests include cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL or "good cholesterol"), low-density lipoprotein (LDL or "bad cholesterol) and triglycerides. Excessive intake of cholesterol rich food, such as animal fats and egg yolks may result in increased level of cholesterol, such that the bad cholesterol gets deposited as fats in the wall of blood vessels. These deposit blocks off blood supply to vital organs and may result in stroke or heart attack |
| KIDNEY FUNCTION
These tests study the function of the kidney, the organ that filters your blood, preserving useful elements while discarding unwanted waste into the urine. Kidney function tests include area; which is the end-product of protein metabolism, creatinine; which is a wa.ste product of creatine phosphate (a substance stored in the muscle and used for energy), and the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and chloride. | BONE & JOINTS
This panel checks for healthy bones as well as bone diseases. Calcium and Phosphate are important minerals for good health. High levels of these minerals are associated with bone disease. RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) Factor screens for arthritis, an inflammation of the joints. Patients with rheumatoid arthritis will have high levels of RA Factor and will show a positive result. The panel also includes Uric Acid, which is formed from the breakdown of nuclei acids and excreted by kidneys. Having low solubility, it tends to precipitate as uric acid crystals. High level of uric acid will lead to gout, a disease where uric acid crystals are deposited in tissues and jointed, causing pain. |
